How We Operate
We don't advertise much to keep the costs down - a big proportion of our business comes through referrals from satisfied customers, and we like it that way. Leaving more time and resource to deliver great service. We trust that after using our services you will feel satisfied enough to pass on the word!
COST OF SERVICE (one handyman Chester area)
- First Half hour £30
- Each half hour thereafter £25
- Half Day £90
Evening and weekend work is charged at a 30% premium.
Jobs that are booked four or more weeks ahead attract a 5% discount.
Our handymen are happy to quote for regular contracts which can as preplanned work attract big discounts off our regular rates.
COST OF MATERIALS
Materials are extra. Most customers source their own materials and use us purely as a labour service, but your handyman would be happy to fetch particular parts for you if needed. We add a mark-up to parts we supply to reflect the fact that time and expertise has been used to select and find the right materials.
RIGHT TOOLS FOR THE JOB
Our handymen carry a full range of tools to tackle a huge number of different jobs. They also carry a wide selection of small parts (screws, nails, wall plugs, plumbing connections and so forth). However if they have to leave site to obtain tools that should have reasonably be noted as required no charge will be made for that time.
ESTIMATING
Our handymen generally only do jobs that last up to 4 hours therefore we can give a fairly accurate indication of the cost, you can then make a booking. When one of our handymen arrive on site they will confirm before starting how long the task is likely to take. If this is significantly greater that the guide you were given you can chose not to continue without any charge being made. For bigger jobs, like fitting a new kitchen or bathroom, our handyman would usually make a visit first to give you an estimate (fixed price), inspect the site and confirm your requirements.
INSURANCE
We carry £2m of public liability insurance.
SPEED OF RESPONCE
We are a handyman service covering the Chester area and are not really an emergency service - most of the work we do is booked in a couple of days in advance. We can often squeeze jobs in on the same day as they are booked, though, so it is worth calling to check availability.
HOURS OF BUSINESS
Our standard Handyman Service to the Chester area is 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday. We can do jobs in the evening or on Saturdays for a 30% premium. Our office is open from 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday.
GAS WORK
As we are a handyman service we don’t do any work with gas, this work must be carried out by a CORGI registered engineer.
WHO WILL BE ATTENDING
One of our handymen or associates will be attending, who have been vetted and have the skills to carry out the tasks set and are also polite and well presented; who are friendly and understand the importance of customer service. However all our handymen are just that: handymen. There may be some jobs that we can't tackle, in which case we will always tell you and try and recommend a suitable specialist to use instead.
BOOKING IN
We will give hourly intervals when the visit is planned if for any reason there is a change your handyman willl always call in advance to keep you informed of our revised time of attendance
SIZE OF JOBS UNDERTAKEN
The jobs we do generally range from 30 minutes to a day. We do sometimes do much larger jobs lasting several days to a week (Bathroom or kitchen fitting). For anything lasting longer than this you are better off using a specialist tradesman.

PAYMENT
Generally your handyman will not ask for money prior to work unless it involves the purchase of job specific materials.
We accept cash or cheque.
OFFICE MAINTENANCE
We offer a service to take care of your day to day maintenance requirements.
Just call Little Jobs and we will instruct a handyman to attend, you simply pay within 30 days. |
